Jivesh Parasram
Artistic Director

Jivesh is an award-winning multi-disciplinary artist, and facilitator of Indo-Caribbean descent. His work has toured Nationally and Internationally. Jiv is the founding Artistic Producer of Pandemic Theatre, and became the Artistic Director of Rumble Theatre following three years as the Associate Artistic Producer at Theatre Passe Muraille. He was a member of the Cultural Leader Lab with the Banff Centre and Toronto Arts Council. His public service work has included collaborations with the Ad Hoc Assembly, The Canadian Commission for UNESCO, and as an advisor to the National Arts Centre. His current cultural practice centres decolonization through aesthetics.

 

Christie Watson
Managing Director

Christie graduated from theatre school in 2001 and has played many roles within the cultural arena. In 2003 he received a professional development grant from Theatre Ontario and has since been involved in an organizational capacity with GCTC, The NAC, The Chop, Radix, Alley Theatre and Caravan Farm Theatre. Christie was the producer for TBD: Liberation Through Hearing (RADIX), Sonic Elder (The Chop), Children of God (Urban Ink), Sal Capone (Boldskool Productions), Motherload (Motherload Collective) and The Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards 2016, 2017 and 2018.

 

Jarin Schexnider
Operations Manager

Jarin is an arts administrator and performer who has worked to build safe(r) spaces of creative expression for artists, explorers, and tinkerers for over 15 years. She is the founder and Artistic Director of What Lab, an arts incubator and warehouse space in East Vancouver. She holds a Masters of Archival Science from UBC and has worked in the art archives of The Cinematheque, Western Front, and BAM in Brooklyn, NY. She completed her undergraduate studies in Drama at Bennington College in Vermont. She calls herself a mom, a mover, a poet, a bike-rider, and so much more.

Sena Yurika Takei Cagla

Sena is an immigrant multidisciplinary artist currently in the early stages of creating a multilingual theatre piece centering on family dynamics. Sena has worked with Rumble Theatre for almost two years in various roles from Art Administration to best chef specialized in cooking rice and beans (and hot dogs and clams)!

Meaghan Chenosky

Meaghan (She/Her) is an award-winning Vancouver-based actor and singer. With the support of Rumble Theatre, Meaghan is creating her first theatre piece exploring themes of suffering and healing through storytelling, knowledge sharing, and music within the form of Karaoke night.

Michael Groberman

Michael has studied theatre and worked as a theatre critic. For Rumble he’s enjoyed helping with Tremors, Ephemera IV, and this website.

Shanae Sodhi

Shanae Sodhi is a recent graduate of Studio 58 where he was one of the establishing members and Head Organizer of the school’s Student Diversity Committee. He is part of Rumble’s Future Facilitators Cohort (funded by a BCAC Early Career Development grant).

Monica Trejbal

Aki Yaghoubi

Aki is an Iranian-Canadian theatre and film artist. She is working on her second play “Tara’s Barrier” with the support of Rumble theatre and Canada Council for the Arts. She won the standout actress award from Reelworld Film Festival 2021 for her performance in Sin La Habana.
